(W) Ergonomics: Active Online Use - 2 Class Series
This 2 part Ergonomics series will address how you, the human factor, interface with your setup and online presence. We will look at the ergonomics of your workstation as well as provide ways to recuperate during and after your work sessions. By attending to how you interface with your work you can experience improved focus, less fatigue, and minimize strain on eyes, neck, back, hands and wrists. This series is taught through the lens of the Alexander Technique, a mindful movement process, and will be led by Ann Rodiger.
This class series will take place 11/2 and 11/16 from 6-7pm on Zoom.
Part 1: Your Ergonomic Workstation: In part 1 of this series, we will look at how to create an ergonomically sound workstation. You’ll learn how the best mechanics and placement for your at-home workstation can optimize your focus, energy, and productivity. We will then start to look at how you can most efficiently interface with your new set-up. There will be time to receive live feedback and ask specific questions about your own setup.
Part 2: Interfacing with your Workstation and Recuperation from Work: In part 2 of this series, we will look at how you, the human factor, can interact with your workstation in the most efficient way so that you end the day with more energy and less stress. You will learn best practices for using your keyboard, looking at your screen, speaking, and presenting yourself on virtual platforms. This week will also include how to recuperate from your time at work.
You will learn practical tips and exercises for resetting and restoring ease and balance before, during, and after work.
