What does AmSAT-certified mean?

The requirements for AmSAT teacher certification are specified in the AmSAT ByLaws and include the completion of 1,600 hours of training over a minimum of three years at an AmSAT-approved Teacher Training Course. Once certified, AmSAT teachers must also comply with continuing education requirements established by the Society. Through its rigorous credentialing process, AmSAT has certified over 1,000 teachers since its founding in 1987 and evaluates for approval and periodic re-approval applications from AmSAT members to run AmSAT-approved teacher training courses.
